James & Brooke

Autumn 2019
James and Brooke’s love story started with a little help from cupid the matchmaker. Their first date was an arranged date at a local bar in Toowoomba, Muller Bros. After searching through the crowd, James and Brooke were relieved to finally find each other on the rooftop bar. James and Brooke just clicked and from the beginning, they knew they would be great friends and today they are best friends.
Let’s just say that James nailed the proposal. They visited the one and only New York City for Brooke’s 40th, James organised the perfect day. Starting with a breathtaking room service breakfast, James and Brooke then took a bike ride through beautiful Central Park. It didn't stop there though, James added in a helicopter ride over the city and lastly, they visited a Michelin Star dinner in Brooklyn. Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, almost at the end, James asked Brooke if she would take one more step with him.
Originally from Brisbane, the couple moved to the Garden City just 3 years ago, falling in love with Toowoomba's generosity and honest beauty. Gabbinbar Homestead captured Toowoomba's true beauty and James and Brooke knew it was the perfect wedding venue as soon as they walked through the gates. James and Brooke wanted to dine with their loved ones outside under the stars and the team at Gabbinbar Homestead worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life. It was truly a magical night outside on ‘Dan’s Lawn’ with their nearest and dearest.
James and Brooke created a casual and relaxed vibe by combining our rustic timber top tables with our wooden cross back chairs, finishing the look with a sea of candlelight down the middle of the tables. Little DIY touches such as the welcome sign and wedding invitations gave James and Brooke’s special day a personal feel.
