STILL, WHITE, AND LUMINOUS | WINTER — JUNE | 83 GUESTS | THE CEDAR LAWN

There is a particular quality to winter light at Gabbinbar — cool and clear, the kind that makes everything feel considered. She dressed in the homestead's quiet rooms, her lace-hemmed veil laid across aged stone beside pearl-strapped heels and a gold ring catching the pale morning. He fastened his watch at the window, already smiling. The ceremony unfolded beneath the cedar, flanked by columns of white roses, garden dahlias, and wax flower woven into something abundant yet unhurried. A veil trailing across the lawn. A dip at the aisle's end, guests laughing into the cool air. Later, tucked into a leather library chair with books stacked behind them, they were simply two people who had found their place. The evening settled into festoon-lit trees and the quiet of two foreheads resting together — held, at last, by the night.
