Wedding Venues Ravensbourne

Where your love story begins.

The drive out from Brisbane takes about 90 minutes. Through the valley, up onto the Range — and if you're making a day of it, out through Esk and the tall timber country near Ravensbourne before you arrive. Far enough to feel like you've left the world behind. Close enough that you haven't.

First-time visitors often say they didn't think places like this still existed. We understand why. There's something about arriving here that's hard to put into words — and even harder to forget.

A 160 year old award-winning estate, Gabbinbar is one of Queensland's most celebrated places to get married — and once you've seen it, it's easy to understand why couples travel from Brisbane and beyond to be here.

Sitting on the Range, Gabbinbar runs noticeably cooler than Brisbane and the coast — a relief for outdoor ceremonies, and part of what gives the estate its particular character. The lawns stay green naturally through every season, the tall trees hold their shade, and it's the flowers that mark the turning of the year — quietly, without making a fuss about it. Mornings on the Range can be misty; afternoons tend to clear.

CEREMONY

Four distinct outdoor ceremony locations sit within the estate's gardens, each with its own character. Some couples are drawn to dappled light filtering through old trees. Others want open sky and the sweep of the Range. There's no wrong answer — only the one that feels like yours.

The Pavilion. The Governor's Lawn. The Cedar Lawn. The Woods.

For couples who want to be outdoors but not at the mercy of the weather, there's also a beautiful weather-protected outdoor ceremony option — so the plan stays intact regardless of what the sky is doing.

Professional immersive sound carries your ceremony across the gardens without effort, and as it concludes, waitstaff line up to welcome your guests into what comes next.

GARDEN PARTY

After the ceremony, the estate opens up. Guests move through the gardens while trays of canapes circulate and drinks are brought around — no hunting for a bar, no standing in queues. Just people settling into the afternoon, the way a celebration should feel.

The gardens are set up for it: outdoor lounges and comfortable furniture, lounge sets for guests who'd rather sit than stand, high and low bar tables, umbrellas, a garden fire pit, and sitting rooms with open fireplaces for cooler evenings. Covered areas mean the garden party continues whatever the weather.

For those who want to add to the atmosphere, there's the option of live music, a live wedding painter capturing the day on canvas, and an outdoor bar. Accessible paths connect the homestead throughout, so every guest — including those with mobility considerations — can move freely and comfortably.

DRINKS

Gabbinbar's Timeless Collection drinks package runs for 7.5 hours — from the garden party through to the end of the night. Carefully selected by the estate's sommelier, it covers sparkling wine, white, rosé and red wines, local beers and ciders, non-alcoholic options, and locally roasted coffee and tea. A genuine range, so every guest feels looked after from the first toast to the last song.

Spirits and cocktails are available via bar tab or cash bar for guests who'd like something beyond the collection.

RECEPTION

The glass ceiling draws your eye upward. The room holds warmth in a way that modern venues simply can't replicate — from the timber, the linen, the quality of light at dusk. Guests settle in and don't want to leave.

That's the thing about a space with a century of history behind it: it already knows how to hold a celebration. The ballroom and glass ceiling reception room create an atmosphere that is at once grand and intimate, dressed with French oak chairs, pressed white linen, fine china and crystal glassware.

PLANNING AND SUPPORT

Gabbinbar's team of full-time wedding planners are with you from the first site visit through to the morning after. Between those points, MyGabbinbar — your personal planning portal — keeps everything in one place: run sheets, seating plans, vendor coordination, a shared guest website, and a secure inbox for all wedding communication.

The bridal retreat opens at 8am on the day, with brunch, the Timeless Collection drinks package, hair and makeup consoles, a clothes steamer, private ensuite, and the quiet of the homestead before the morning begins properly.

On the day, a dedicated wedding day planner, bridal and grooms attendants, guest concierge, food and beverage manager, and one waitstaff per ten guests means nothing slips. The night ends with complimentary overnight parking for 80 vehicles, priority taxi and Uber coordination, and the option of sparkler exits and fairy light gardens.
